Locations

southwall waystation

As its borders solidified, the Enclave built a series of physical fortifications along its land perimeter, with the largest of these being known simply as Southwall. There were several way-forts dotted along the protective structure, with only one main entrance open to trade caravans.

Lower Dynevron

Lower Dynevron was the thrumming mercantile heart of the city. Caravans steadily made their way in and out of Drover’s Gate at the height of the Enclave’s power, bringing goods and services along the roadways and the bridges spanning the area between the city and the Southwall. Nearby docklands also contributed to the area’s bustling commerce.

upper dynevron

The upper reaches of the Enclave’s capital city are a marvel of engineering and artifice alike. Winding paths, sprawling gardens, and towering structures are all displays of opulence from the height of the Enclave’s power. Carved into and extended form the slopes of Mt. Joden

Dredger's mire

The Dredger’s Mire earned its name with the discovery, early in the Enclave’s expansion southward from the capital island, that this region was once home to another group of would-be settlers from some time ago.

The Bastion

Properly named ‘The Bastion of Fire and Frost,’ it seems evident that no one ever referred to the fortress looming at the edge of Dynevron’s lower reaches as anything other than the first part of its name. This citadel acted as a mustering point and training grounds for the Enclave’s small standing force, as well as its considerable reserves.

The Arkons hearth

a crucial location in Eternal Strands where magical “arcs” were created before a cataclysmic event called the “surge” occurred.

The institute

It’s clear the Institute was the origin of two key advances that led to the Enclave that we know today: the design and construction of the tapestry, and the protocols required to manipulate the curious magically active mineral known as ‘coral’.

Glintwood Hollow

Composed of rough rocky faces and wet lowlands, the Hollow is most notable for having supported the elevated trade road that led from the Southwall to the capital. Digging deeper, though, its proximity to the way station that now serves as our camp made it much more heavily trafficked than would appear on any historical record.

Osphine Pastures

Located northwest of Dynevron, the farm sits not half a day’s walk of the Great Chasm, though one can hardly tell looking from ground level: this valley was spared from the worst of the Surge’s upheavals, and any damage was quickly repaired.

The Grand Gate

Located near Cassidan’s Hold, the Grand Gates are a series of massive loomgates constructed at such a scale as to be able to move the great arks across the Enclave. From my research, we know that there were at least five of these gates constructed and woven into the Tapestry’s network.

Cassidan's Hold

Formerly acting as the Enclave’s northernmost military outpost, Cassidan’s Hold now hosts the remnants of the population and their government. At first glance, one might not suspect this windswept citadel to be the last bastion of the Enclave, but with a quick analysis revealing easily defensible approaches and enough arable land to feed its small population.

Starlight Cape

Located to the northeast of the Enclave, just inside the veil, Starlight Cape is the most north-eastern point of the massive shield encompassing the Enclave.

The source

The Source is a natural fount of magic located deep underground. Discovered during the early stages of the Enclave’s settlement, it was quickly found that objects exposed to it would rapidly [REDACTED]. The coral-like mineral surrounding it seems to be immune to this effect.
